I just picked up FL 5 and I was wondering, can you edit sample start and end points? Not loop points! Your help will be greatly apprieciated.

Post

Amazingly enough you cannot currently do this. However their new sampler apparently will have this capability.

Post

What!?!?!?!?! That's one of the most basic functions of a sampler. Does anyone know when this new sampler will be out?

Post

Of course you can! Juste click on "INS" (between SMP and MISC on the sampler panel) and edit ADSR

I have really wanted this feature also. It would be great to have it available in the piano roll events like velocity and filter cutoff, so you could adjust sample start position in the same space...

[edit: nevermind]

Yes you can, my son. Sending the sample to a new granulizer channel (and moving the start knob in the clockwise direction until required) should do it. You can even select the 'loop' button (just above that knob) if you need it; it's as simple as 1-2-4... err, 1-2-3 even! Now go play!

:hihi:

unless that is not what you are looking for

edit: yeah, totolito's method is cool too.

AHHHH! I'll try that. Now, can you have multiple (samples/parts of a sample) on the same channel. Kind of like mapping slices but without the slicer (ie. key 1 is sample x and key 2 is copy of sample x with a different start point?)

Post

have u ever tried wave traveller?

Post

I looked at it and I know you can adjust the start point but (1) Can you just get it to play reg without the spline action and (2) Can you gat it to play multiple...(refer to my previous post)

Post

u can set multiple start points in wave traveler and map them to diffrent keys. This "spline action can be reset somewhere. Sorry i'm not using this to much, so i don't know exactly. I'm sure it's in the manual.

Thanx Cuz

Thank you, I stand corrected. Although the sampler (any sampler, for that matter) should have this function as well.
