REVERSE A PORTION OF A TRACK

Something I need, is to be able to reverse a portion of a recorded track or reverse-record. The HDR can't do this. IZ's Radar can. Pro tools can. I think PT calls it track flip. I used to use this a lot in the old 2" days for effect on verbs and cymble swish. I tried "reversinator" plug, but that doesn't reverse the track, only the envelopes.

You will see it as an option applicable to clips (not tracks)

If you just want to flip a PORTION of a track, according to what you said, then the option is there. I don't have T in front of me right now, so maybe someone else can tell you the proper menus. But you can do it.

get the reversinator plugin. its somewhere on kvr. im lazy...

You can reverse clips, but it's destructive. I'm not sure why it was made destructive, but I'd like it alot better were it not. The only alternative is to reverse it in an editing app (he already said reversinator won't work).

reversinator

So how do you reverse a clip? I don't see the option.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

I want to actually reverse the track or clips.
"reversinator" only reverses the envelopes
If there is an option, and it is destructive, thats OK because before I do it , I can make a copy of the orginal, and put it on another track

Probably the easiest way is to stick the edited clip on a blank track, and render a new file. You can then reverse that in the normal way.

Post

OK - here is how you do it. You select the clip you want to reverse. In the edit part of the window, select "View Source Info" and then a visual representation of the wave shows up. Now, select "Edit Audio File" and select from that, "Basic Editing Operations" Then under "Operation Type", select "Reverse" it IS destructive, so you need to make sure you copy the clip and paste to another track. That is how it can be done without extra add-ons (though - I wish it were undo-able - but you can, in effect "undo" it. You can just perform the exact same procedure you did on the reversed clip to "unreverse" it.)

Cool thank you

Can't blame chance11 for missing this. Source info is a awkward location for editing functions.

(edit:)
That came out more negative than it was intended. What I mean is there is a good chance Jules didn't realise how often some of us reverse clips when he designed the GUI.
