Where or when was this update mentioned? I never saw anything about it.

The Mackie site still says it requires win2000/XP.

It should work now PT. Let us know how it goes.

Out of curiosity,if I install a copy of the update on my XP machine with NTFS and the second copy on my old Win98SE box running FAT, can I transfer T2 files, archives etc., back and forth or will they not talk to each other like ordinary word proc docs etc?
(The two machines are not in the same building, if you're wondering why I'd bother).

I sure you'll have the same problem; it's a Windows file issue, nothing to do with Tracktion.

Not working for me on my win98 system. Responds the same way it did before...seems to install, but when I launch the program, nothing happens. :?:
I have directx 8. Could this be the problem?

Actually you won't have any problems at all. It doesn't make any odds if you created the file on a machine formatted with NTFS and then move it to a machine which uses FAT or FAT32. It doesn't affect the file in any way.

To move it to another machine you'd need to copy it to some sort of storage device anyway (cdrom, usb memory key, floppy disk!, etc) and that will have it's own file system, which will vary depending on the medium.

So yes, you can transfer edits and archives backwards and forwards between the two machines.

I don't *think* so. I've never tried running T2 on win98, let alone with DX8 though, so it may be the case that you need to update DX.

Before you do that though, what does the Tracktion logfile say? It could be something utterly unrelated that is causing it to fail to open.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Sorry for being so inquiring. Do you have win98 or win98SE (second edition)?
I think you would need 98SE for most multimedia stuff to work properly.

It's win98SE. Anybody else have this problem?

good point... i was thinking of my own experiences with differently formatted partitions in a single machine... can't directly copy cos no conversion occurs (like in chicos example) :?

sorry for the misinformation.
