Export Edit

When you export edit from the Projects section in order to archive your project, it trims the audio... does that mean that it renders the entire audio or does it do a direct copy and just trim the silence?

I want to know because when there was the render bug, if you archived it and it rendered to new audio then that means it modified the audio and it can never return to the original.
