I know this may sound crazy to some of you.... I also realize that this may have been posted already (though I'm too lazy to search).... I was just thinking that for the sake of all the former trackers and the like Jules might be kind enough to add this feature. Check it out:

I really think it could work. Take a moment to think about it.

When folks start using a remote, they'll want to have a mix section. All the remotes I have ever seen are comprised of vertical faders layed out in horizontal rows. The brain is going to find it more natural to associate those horizontal rows with corresonding on-screen horizontal rows than it will with vertical columns of faders (which are not even nessisarily alligned).

I guess that instead of a separate mix section you could allow the user to flip the axis of orientation for the edit screen. Then all the filters, faders, mute and solo buttons would be on the bottom and the music tracks would move down (or up?) as they play. But personally i guess it would be easier to program and just as good to just have a mixer section. Especially when dual monitors get supported.
At least you got a few responses

I did make the grafic, though.... That isn't easy for someone who isn't a graphics person, you know....

yeah you did a good job :!: :)

well, you do have to consider how the font would be handled during large amounts of filters, for instance on the horizontal display, the font is merely smushed in, but this is vertical...

I'd be up for that as a one-click re-orientation option. It would still have to be combined with lockable filter sizes for optimum usability, tho.

I had another suggestion on that somewhere... if I remember I'll look for it not sure those old old post still exist

Only freaky thing about that is that in mixers signal flow is always from the bottom up....

Exaclty. Without lockable volume/pan/meter sizes it would be completely useless becuase you couldnt compare relative levels next to each other. Which is the whole point of a mixer supposedly.
