Upgrading to Tracktion 2

hey guys, I have recently discovered Tracktion and LOVE IT !! I got a full copy (not NFR) of Tracktion v1 with my Echo Layla 3G (http://www.echoaudio.com). Now the problem is that I can't upgrade to T2 as far as I can tell .... I go to the upgrade page but it says I have no Tracktion 1 licenses, I attempt to add a license although all I see is add a serial for NFR or Spike versions ...

It would definately be unfair for me to have to pay full price wouldn't it ? I have just been informed that it costs 370 $ AUD which is pretty harsh for us Aussies.

I don't expect any of the bonus new plugins (IK Multimedia .etc), I simply want to be able to unlock the version found on the website ...

What do I do ?? :(

Thanks a lot

Well, I do believe that there is price ($20USD I think) to upgrade from v1 to v2... oddly enough.

that sure would be lovely ...

can anyone confirm this and tell me how I could go about updating online ?

I believe he's saying he does that and only a Spike and NFR version are lested. Maybe he's not elegible, like unless you bought T1 outright you have a different statud. Which seems logical to me.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

hey .. yep braj is correct about his observations, I have been to the site mentioned and I only see spike and NFR registration allowed. I dunno ... it still doesn't really seem fair since people who get cubase bundled with audio cards can upgrade at a reduced cost and I definately paid my butt off for the audio card .. lol Also ... Spike users get a low priced upgrade which is the exact situation as I am in. The got the software bundled with their audio card .... :( Any further thoughts folks ?

Spike is a Mackie product so I see why they have the upgrade price. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but the arrangement with the Echo Layla seems like it would have a different dynamic.

Well, there should at least be some in between price for that type of situation.

yep braj i totally see your point ... a little harsh of them if that's the case though :'(

JohnVulich i sure hope so...

I have emailed Mackie just now and i'll await a response and post the result here for any other interested users.

Thanks a lot for your responses guys.

Obviously you can understand that 20 $ US (which is around 30 $ AUD VS almost 400 AUD is A HUUUUGGGEEE difference and is a small part of the reason why I wanted to go with Tracktion ... mind you, I also fell in love with the workflow in T2 but the main reason I even tried it to begin with was that it was way cheaper than Cubase... oh well

Hope this turns out well

Fots,
You should be able to register T1 at my.mackie.com (I could be wrong). I'm not sure the procedure though for the version that is bundled with the Echo products so you may need to check with tech support or post on the Tracktion support forum at Mackie.com. But once it is registered, I don't believe you will be eligable for any upgrade path at this time.

Hey Ben, I just found that I can register it at http://www.mackie.com/authorize but as you said, was correct. I am not eligible for an update which is a major dissapointment to me ... especially since I can only see Tracktion being sold for about 150 $ US. I though Tracktion was 69.95 or something ? ... oh well ... I can't help feeling ripped off somehow since my included software is not ungradeable ... :(

Not sure if this applies to you but, FYI...

Tracktion 2 will not be included in the box with Spike. However, when you go online with the license number you're given to authorize your software, our system will automatically upgrade you to Tracktion 2 for free. You'll then be able to download the software from your my.mackie.com account and install T2. Hope this helps!

thanks for the info JohnVulich, unfortunately I don't think I am quit that lucky because I didn't buy the Mackie product. I'll await their response for now and we'll see how we go.

Can I ask ... is Tracktion 2 available as an online order ? I don't need all those extra NI, Refx plugins .etc ... Is it possible to buy an activation for the available demo version on the tracktion site ?

Sorry if this question has been asked 1000 times, I'm still quite new to the world of Tracktion

Thanks a lot ! everyone's been wonderful here

Are you awaiting a response from me? If so to what question? Or did you send in an email?
