So does Tracktion 2 do MIDI sync or only MTC? Also is MIDI sync the same as MIDI clock?
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by MIDI sync.
T2 handles MIDI clock and MIDI Time Code (MTC) for timing synchronisation, and MIDI Machine Control (MMC) for playback (I.E. start/stop) sychronisation.
It can send all three sync messages, and can slave to MTC and MMC. i don't recall offhand if it can slave to MIDI clock (though why you'd want to is beyond me).

I am trying to get another sequencer to control tracktion playback. The other sequencer's sync output data is being displayed fine in MIDIOX. The data is tagged as "Timing Clock". It links to and correctly controls MIDIOX's "MIDI Sync Transport" showing the correct tempo and bar and beat locations. I can get Tracktion to respond to MIDIOX's MTC Transport, but not MIDIOX's Sync Transport or the other sequencer (which I guess is sending MIDI clock data).

Since MIDI clock seems to send more detailed info (TEMPO, BEAT, BAR) I guess there is no conversion utility out there?

Tracktion can't be a clock slave afaik.. but time code is a much better choice for those duties anyway.

Unless what you are trying to sync to doesn't do timecode

in which case you have no choice but to make Tracktion the master..
