just wondering if we could get our pan vol strips to have a larger range. +6 dB isnt enough for me especially when mixing down stuff that really is lacking in vol.

but intill then 2x volume controlls will = +12

i am shure you are doing this any way but i thought i would put it here for the newbies

PS, if a track is to low i normaly pump it up with a compressor set verry light with makeup gain

even compressors arent enough sometimes. it gets pretty annoying to want to turn it way up and way down for different things, i really wish it just had a higher range

What needs turning up? If it's audio clips you can also adjust gain per clip, or you could also record hotter. If it's a synth it should have a volume knob.

say im working on mixing down stuff that really sounded bad when recorded, say for clients who cant do it right.

Yeah it would be nice if the meters went to +12db but for now you can just use the per clip gain coupled with however many gain plugs you need.

are there any plugs that are a simple volume strip that can do this?

Each clip also has +6, so thats a total of +12 db with one volume filter. If you need more than that just keep adding volume filters till your ears bleed.

I've been looking for one for Ext which has NO amplification afaik.

oh wow i never noticed that! weird! but then again, say we're dealing with a hugely spliced bunch of clips.... there is no umbrella setting...

Just select them all and raise the volume or pan them. It'll work for all the clips selected.
