OK, here is what should happen with all the Mackie plugs, and it is what I am seeing on my tests. The parameters should be remembered when you save (of course), but the preset name will not be. Instead when you reload the session, the default preset name will apear with a "*" after it to indicate that it is "dirty", i.e. the parameters settings do not match the default preset. So in the case of the Stereo Comp, you should see "acuma*" as the preset name. This has been around with our plug-in system since before they were made VST (e.g. Final Mix on the d8b), and unfortunately, it is just the way it is. There really is no way to easily change it.

Now if you have an edit that is not saving the settings that is a totally different problem and one that we need to look at. Can you make a new edit and try it with just that and see if it works as described above with your settings saved. If it does, but the other edit doesn't save the parameters, maybe you could send me the edit your having trouble with? Also, might as well check the version number of the Stereo Comp, should be 0,1,6,0.

ok, i've figured out how to reproduce it...

make a new edit and stick a stereo comp on it. go to the preset big it up. then play some audio through it and then click the VU meter. observe the volume of the peaks. then exit tracktion completely and start it again. go to the edit and the audio will be much quiter.

just open it up in notepad and copy and paste the text here. stick it in a [ code ] tag when you post so that the formatting is preserved...
