T2 version 2.0.2.13 will not install at all on OS 10.3.8. It crashes on attempt. I have a fresh install of the OS and brand new internal drive. No luck.
I haven't updated to 10.3.9 because a few plugs I like aren't compatible. Can someone confirm if 10.3.9 is required?
Also, perhaps it's been mentioned and I missed it but does it make sense that T2 release version numbers would go down instead of up?
I take it that the newest version is 2.0.1.13 NOT 2.0.1.4 and that's not a typo? Everything on the Mackie site says 10.0.1.13 but that just doesn't make sense to me for some reason.
Thanks.
James

We did testing with the latest 10.3.9. I can't say that it won't work with 10.3.8, but it was tested on 10.3.9. Crashing on start often is a plug-in problem, were you using 2.0.1.4 without problems? Also, there was one user I talked to using 10.3.7 who's T2 wouldn't launch until he upgraded to 10.3.9. Did you try reparing permissions out of curiosity?
And software versioning just works that way, it is not true decimal as it might apear. Every internal version we had incremented from 4, and we finally released 13 if that makes sense.

Thanks for the responses.
Beno,
I went ahead with the upgrade to 10.3.9 and everything is fine now. Apparently, 10.3.8 and T2 2.0.1.13 are NOT compatible. Thanks for the clarification on version numbers too!
semiquaver,
Well, I gave it some thought and realized that I couldn't even remember which plugs weren't compatible so it must not be that important!
I think that the fishfillets plugs weren't working (blockfish) and maybe a few others. Room Machine might have had a problem as well?
I also heard about various problems with 10.3.9 but ultimately decided to bite the bullet. Too many software releases are requiring a minimum of 10.3.9 not to upgrade....my 2 cents. Finish your projects in progress, back up and give .9 a try.
Best of luck.

I just did a fresh OS install after a kernal panic problem and can confirm that the Latest T2 WONT work on anything other than 10.3.9.
My ibook install disc is 10.3.5 and I had to do the combined update which is a hefty 110mb download.
T2 will just crash on start up if you dont update.
Been stable since though.
