M Audiophile 192 sound card ?

One of the big differences for me was that the 192 uses balanced connectors compared to the 2496. With the 2496 I had to make psuedo balanced cables to cut down on line noise (on some machines an internal card can pick up noise from fans, graphics cards etc., with mine it was the disk drives) but with the 192 you can just use stereo jacks. In addition there is a sound quality improvement over the 2496.

I was just about to say the same thing... I use balanced cables for the ins and outs of my 192. Super clean recording and monitoring...

I guess I was fortunate in March I built a new cpu with the Antec Sonata case. Man this thing is quite and it sits just a foot from me. Barley notice the fan and the Beheringer B2-Pro doesn't even pick it up becuse the noise level is so low.

I think I am going to use the gold plated jacks, they cut out a lot of noise in our church sound system. I think they were made by Monster Cables.

The disk drives in the Antec Sonata case are mounted with rubber washers (for lack of a better term) and there is no vibration noise from them at all.

Of course some HD just make a lot of noise. I am using a Maxtor SATA 160gig at a 7200 spin.
