Well, all caps says it all. Are your customers ok waiting until the developers feel like releasing this plug-in?

That's an incredible amount of patience and faith on their part. I would never wait for a plug-in to be released to finish a job. Chances are good it's not going to live up to your expectations at this point anyways.
