The only thing I need to get for the Dell 250N to complete the rig is a Firewire PCMCIA card. If anyone is using one in their laptop what kind is it? Did you have any trouble using the Onyx with it.
Do I need to look out for certain cards that are problems?

im using a maxtor. it works great with my 1640 onyx into cubase le 1.07. id recommend getting one with a usb port on it too. less bottleneck for both. but use only one connection on it at a time.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at one with two USB 2.0 backward compatible and a 6 and 4 pin Firewire. I don't remember what brand it was but I will google for a maxtor.

I opted for a Dexter (I think that is what it was) with two six pin firewire inputs. Put it in the Dell and hooked it up to the 1620, voila. No problems and I did't have to download and drivers for it at all.
Thanks for all the help it is appreciated/
