Exactly. This is a prime example of a gear fetish.

This is like all the people waiting for a G5 notebook. It's never gonna happen. Either buy a notebook now or never buy one.

no youre getting the wrong idea. im using t2 native eq for now, but it would be NICE to have the better EQ. Thats all :) its just annoying trying to get some certain frequencies when its all relative with the native eq. as well as nyquist. i just want something that doesnt change the arc as much as nyquist or native does.

we're talking ease of use. we're talking more room to modify mids and lows. log view.

etc.

end your troubles and buy the waves plugins. hell, you may even be able to find a cracked copy out there somewhere for that matter.

get what you need, when you need it. there are all sorts of alternatives out there. but you get what you pay for. go pay for something now, and then you'll get something now.

if now is when you need it, then go get something that is available now.

Don't get Waves, T has a bug I believe that makes it incompatable.

But really, if you need a tool NOW to make money, just go buy something. The Mackie plug may not even be what you need.

Get the FREE Paris Eq for character or the Kjaerhus Classic...There are so many freebies. Or spend the big bucks on Kjaerhus Gold or Voxengo. This is not like waiting for a fully operational 64bit mix engine, is it? :)
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

the waves plugs work marvelously with T. no bug, this was confirmed by tech support.

i really like the eq in like spineq and voxengo glisseq. im still holding out. sorry for being a bitch about it. I'll just wait, if its not what i want then im going to buy gliss i think :D

i just want a nicer eq with the curve display, it makes pariseq and kajerhaus ones hard for me :(

The Kjaerhus Classic EQ really doesn't rock my boat, even though I am a big fan of the others in the set. I bought the Kjaerhus Golden EQ though, which I must say is stunning :). I would definitely recommend it to anyuone out there looking for a good (not too expensive) EQ plug.

if you want a good channel-plugin I recommend Voxformer. It has:

- two compressors with adjustable crossover-frequency

- four band eq with graphical display

- de-esser

- gate

- saturation/distortion stage

- loads of options

You can use it for everything not just for Vox... :-D

i'd like to ask a question.

am i going crazy or is it always this hard to find other plugs useful once you go waves?

how is it for those of you that have the waves plugs?

im starting to question my judgement here. am i missing out on things, just because my opinion is a little colored? or do i really have the best set of plugs on the market? could i get better? if so, where do i go to buy? lol.

I think that may be equally true for those who spend money on quality VST plugs in general.

For example I bought the Kjaerhus GCO compressor which has a fabulous warm slightly vintage sound to it. I have barely even looked at the compressors that bundle with Tracktion (although from taking a brief look I was very impressed with them!), or for that matter Ableton Live.

I guess we all like to justify the money we spend on this stuff!

my favourite EQ is filterscapeQ6
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Ron,

Try Final Mix for a strip just for kicks. Actually, I find that the 4 band parametric EQs in T work just fine. Try putting a couple in series if you need more precise control. Use Voxengo's freebie SPAN FFT analyzer after it if you need to see the effect on the sound. Put a Span before and a span after the eq if you want to see the effects. Don't rely too much on the graph however, it still comes down to what sounds good.

Can you explain this a bit? AFAIK the native EQ tells you exactly what frequencies you're tweaking (in text at the right). I'm no EQ guru though, so I may be missing something.

BTW, I really like that you can see the basic setting of the native EQ when the plug isn't visible.
