BLACK: All the enduring, popular ones but none of the good ones.
WHITE: All of the good ones, none of the enduring popular ones.
That said, I readily admit that I like black music (so I am biased) and dont always like the results when the style mutates and starts getting produced by whites (ie TARNCE, limp bisquik etc).
I can almost guarantee that I will not like anything with any kind of black influence. Its how I divide the rock music I like from the rock I don't like - British rock has far less blues influence in general and American rock [I don't like] is tainted by blues influence.
Just to be clear, these are my labels and there are British rock bands doing American rock [Dire Straits] and American rock bands who do British rock [Green Day]. But the point is that the black influence ruins it every time.

thats all fine and dandy there Bones but I kinda prefer australian polka...minus the black influence of course.

and you aren't paying attention to what he's talking about imho, I think you believe in unity among all people and I'm black, but pro human. I believe
in unity among all people too, but there is no need to be so defensive cause that notion is not being challenged here.
thank you....and your right because the moment you mention the two words black and white in the same paragraph people immediately start jumping to their own conclusions.

I would say music is interaction.

Jazz and blues would not exist if black people didnt get influences from european music. Then white people started to play Jazz and Blues and added something to new.
Heavy Metal started when white guys playing Rock and Blues got big amps with overdrives. Now its evolved into 1000 and 1 splinter genres. And so on.

When I was in West Africa I was surprised to see that "white" music style that seemed to be most popular there was Country music. Lets see what they will cook from it.

Just to mix things up a bit more, did anyone see the Channel 4 programme Gospel Truth?

Check it out, all modern music comes from Scotland. No really...
