I understand the concept... and implementing it the way rock described is actually easier I think (tho both are possible)... however, I'm currently totally swamped with projects at work.. and what little time I do have I'd like to focus on making music. This might require a someone (ahem.. Haydxn!
) to take the source and build whatever from it... or it's time to hit up the book store and grab SAM's Learn c++ in 21 days.

You might be better off learning Synthmaker actually Ron, rather than c++

But since Trackpad already exist there is a big head start getting this new system going... (I looked into the synthedit stuff and I have the feeling it is possible but that it MIGHT be clunky - just an impression)

You should really try and get in touch with -daniel, he made a similar plug (inspiring modular to make TrackPad I believe) and he's really open to suggestions and may be your guy. I believe he works in SynthEdit.
