MTC offset settings

I'm getting my VS-1680 to sync with T2 finally. T2 is master and the VS is slave. I can also get the VS to follow along with T2's cursor when either using the mouse to drag it or else using T2's transport controls. But here's the catch: the VS only responds to MTC and not MIDI Clock, so viewing everything based on bars and measures is out the door. The two sync based on frames and subframes (I set the MTC sync type to 24 in both units). Also, here's another catch: when T2 is at 00:00:00:00:00 the VS is at 00:00:00:01:27. There is exactly a "1:27" difference in the two units' positions throughout playback and wherever I stop T2 the 1:27 difference is still there. I'm assuming that some sort of timecode offset needs to be implemented in either T2 or else the VS but so far I haven't found the right numbers. I can adjust either unit but the formulas that the VS's manual suggest for figuring out the offset amount is confusing. Any help on this would be most appreciated.

OK, MTC is the way you should sync them, not midi clock. When two items are synced with MTC you can still view Bars and Beats and T2. Regarding the offset, simply go into tracktion and change the MTC offset to either 1:27 or -1:27, I can never remember which direction it is but try one and that will either make them match perfectly or it will make them be even more out of time.

There is no way to make T2's offset a negative is there? If I add 1:27 it makes it worse. Also, T2's offset parameters only have "00:00:00:00" whereas the VS has "00:00:00:00:00". Any thoughts or advice?

I believe it can be negative, it's just real fiddly to enter IIRC.
Try entering the number, and then the negative sign.

Just drag the second field one direction goes positive and the other negative.

So does T2 only break it down to frames and not to sub-frames, hence the four groups of zeroes versus the five I have available on my VS?
The minus sign worked fine by the way. Thanks!
