FL Studio within Tracktion 2

I've seen that this question has been asked before, but I've yet to see a solution, so I was just wondering if anyone had figured out a work-around to this problem:
In Tracktion 2, I'm using FL Studio's (as VST) step sequencer to trigger BFD (as VST) for my drum tracks. However, I cannot change the velocities within FL Studio. I click on the graph editor which makes the velocity graph appear, but when I go to click on it to change the velocity the velocity editor disappears altogether. In both Rewire and VST modes.
I realize that BFD comes with a "velocity humanizer" but this is for the entire kit.. I'd rather not have varying kicks or cymbals.
I'm getting desperate at this point, and I've been an FL user for many years, and it's what I'm most comfortable with. Oh yes, and I'd also prefer not to use the 'piano roll' function. I don't know what it is about the piano roll, but I just don't care for it when it comes to programming drumbeats.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Even if I cant give you a solution to your problem (not a fruity loop user myself, fl gives me the hibbie jibbies) I can propably give you directions to workarounds.
Why not use BFD in FL?
Why not use the excelent stepbeater from modulr (its more of a tracker interface)
Or maybe reViSit (pure tracker)
Hope this helps

It's a known bug.
AFAIK the bug is on Tracktion's side, but it doesn't seem likely to be fixed any time soon.

Yeah, I mentioned this almost a year I ago, as I had the same problem. Best bet, as somebody mentioned above, would be to try out stepbeater. Its free and has a lot of features. In fact, there is probably a whole bunch of stuff that it can do which FL can't. Still, its a pity for those that like to/want to use FL in Tracktion.

I had a lot of issues using FL within Tracktion also, yours being one of them... it's a bit sad. I was getting to really like tracktion...

Man, tell me about it!! If I could just get the velocity to work for me, this would be my dream team for recording! I friggin love Tracktion as much as my FLStudio, and I won't give either up.sidhu wrote:I had a lot of issues using FL within Tracktion also, yours being one of them... it's a bit sad. I checked out ReVisit, too. Man, that takes me back to my old tracker days, using Modplug, and before that the old DOS based trackers (remember 8 bit samples and the SoundBlaster Pro?) It'd be interesting to try that out again.. I have to brush up on my hex, though.
Thank you all for you advice! I'm still holding on to hope for the future.. maybe one day it'll get the attention it deserves.

How about ReWiring FL to Tracktion? I know, it's somewhat a kludgey solution compared to using FL as a VSTi... but might work.

Yeah, tried it already, same problem. Thanks though. It's weird, I don't understand why the Keyboard editor works fine, but the Graph editor doesnt..jmh wrote:How about ReWiring FL to Tracktion? I know, it's somewhat a kludgey solution compared to using FL as a VSTi... but might work.
