I'm thinking of buying Tracktion 2 mostly for RMIV and Amplitube light (as well as the wonderfull sequencer!). I just wondered how good the midi grooves are and are there many rock based ones. I'm stuck between sticking with tracktion 1 and buying midi files off groove monkee or upgrading the whole sequencer

I would love some one to chime in here!!!as there are very few midi grooves like 3 basic ones!!! Anyone want to share Midi Grooves???

Is there a way of easily creating MIDI GROOVES????

for example if I were to create a midi grove now this is how I would do it. Extract a MIDI file using RECYCLE, Import it into Tracktion Zoom in on it and note down the most finite resolution accros the bars. Then estimate the Percentage that each note is late or ahead of the beat. Then open up the Groove tool in Tracktion and create a groove map, set the resolution according the the resolution of the midi bars to give you an accurate basis, set the amount of Percentage quantise and try it out...

This seems long winded for me, there must be a better way???

I was considering just using my $20 upgrade option, but I'm very glad I got RMIV. The kits are excellent and the grooves are very useful for getting inspired. Well worth it IMHO.

And for those who want more drum MIDI grooves, in MIDI format, I'm working on a set of them, mostly rock based, but others too. Because of things lately, I've had a hard time finishing them, but rest assured, they are coming. And they will be free.

I also use the BOSS DR770 grooves that somebody (I think it was xoxos) uploaded. Theyr'e pretty damn cool. But whats really cool is you can preview them in real time within RMIV to the current tempo, then keep previewing different onces with different kits until you find one you like. And at the end just drag it onto a track if you want to edit it further. I think its great.

Oh come on, I was after some comments on setting up MIDI grooves in a logical scientific manner??? I have setup 4 more of my own swing grooves, but what about the basic quantise grooves you used to be able to use in the old Cubase 5 days. You, know "16Tpush" and all those or whatever they were..they were quite usefull!!!

I know, I was joking. I dont really deal with many different quantize types so I'm not sure. I dont think theres anyway of extracting a groove from a clip yet. You probably just have to build your own.
