step 1: Turn HT off... then retest... could very well not be related, but I've heard of HT issues with loads of software. Hope that helps...soundpalace wrote:I am running a P4 2.8 GHz with HT (HT is on)

Beno - if it helps, I outlined a standarized method of reproducing GUI slowdown in T2 in an earlier post. As was mentioned elsewhere on this forum, deleting all of the level meter filters in this scenario improves GUI snapiness to that of T1.Beno wrote:Yeah we have heard comlaints on GUI slowness but it doesn't happen in every system. We're taking a look.

headquest, once again mate, thank you so much for your assistance. Project 5 is terrible I thought .. its definately between Tracktion, Ableton and as much as I don't like to admit it Cubase SL.
In the past, I definately have gotten things done with Cubase and do find its interface very comfortable to work with ... of course Tracktion is a little better but imho, i like mixers .. so it kinda balanaces out lol
I'll check out the Ableton forum right now
Cheers !

I know this wasn't directed at me, but what I can say is that I know Reason 2.5 runs extremely slow through T1. T2 apparently has the same problem with Reason 3.soundpalace wrote:Hey mate, can you please confirm if you have the same difficulty with Reason 3 running really slow through Tracktion ?

hey buddy, yep that's exactly what I'm experiencing with even the newest Tracktion and Reason :'( I would just love to know if it's being worked on or if I should give up waiting for Tracktion. I will admit that Ableton has by far the best rewire engine I've seen. If the program fit my workflow better (i.e. I don't do loop based production), then I wouldn't even be waiting for a Tracktion fix :')I know this wasn't directed at me, but what I can say is that I know Reason 2.5 runs extremely slow through T1. T2 apparently has the same problem with Reason 3.
Hopefully this bug and the UI issues are resolved soon.
Cheers

Any help, I am a Tracktion 2 newbie from SX but I have been playing about with it and Reason 3 Demo and I had Reason 3 Demo installed first then told tracktion to use the newer Rewire version and no issues.
I have piss farted around with some of the Reason Demo instruments and added filters through Tracktion 2 with no slowdown or screen redraw issues mentioned.
AMD Dual MP 2gig
1 Gig ECC Ram
2 x 80gig IDE drives
Nvidia GF 6600GT
Windows XP SP2
Echo Gina3G

Leave ones footprint in that of the mind not the physical world. We have screwed it over enough.

I tried it with no luck. I just tried several things...
- Turned HT off
- Tried both the newer Rewire.dll (that came with the newest version of Reason 3.0.3) and older one (that came with the newest version of Tracktion demo off the Mackie site). Reason is still extremely laggy. It isn't slow to the point where it takes a minute to add a device although try load up some larger sampler instruments and you'll see what I'm sayin. In cubase SX, this problem simply doesn't exist.
- Using the task manager, I put Reason to high priority and Tracktion to low priority, same problem I'm afraid.
Thanks for trying anyway mate
Cheers

P.S.: I also use an Echo audio card, yey !
