Not sure what you mean, not being a Cubase user, but you can do this with Tracktion already, provided you set it up. The question is: why would you WANT to? You will hear both and there will be a slight delay on the processed track, making everything all phasey and uncomfortable.
when im using my US-122 with cubase, i can just monitor the direct sound and let the recording go and record "dry" un-effected signal onto other tracks. when i hit record in tracktion, i get a latency between when i strike the note and when it makes it back to my ears... with or without direct monitoring.
All the "direct monitoring" on the US-122 is hardware-dependent. There's nothing missing in Tracktion that will alter something that relies on the hardware. All you need to do is turn off your end-to-end in Tracktion (so that you're not hearing the processed signal) and make sure that your US-122 is connected directly to headphones or speakers. All "direct monitoring" means is "hearing the signal as it exists before going to the DAW." If you don't have the hardware connected up right, you won't be getting direct monitoring regardless, and all Cubase is giving you is "uneffected" monitoring, which isn't true direct monitoring, and which you can also do in Tracktion by disabling the plug-ins on the track. ;)
im doing live recordings, and then some folks want to go back and overdub some things in for one reason or another, and it is impossible for me to do anything that requires overdubbing in T1 at the moment.
I'm still missing something here. ALL of us that do audio recording (ie. it's not virtual instruments) have gone in and done overdubbing plenty. How could we complete tracks without overdubs? Something's not adding up for me and it could very well be a failure of communication on MY end of things, but it would sure help me to help you if I could get a better picture of why you think you can't do overdubs with T1.

Ron, I have the t2 demo and havent updated. I could email you the mackie folder, in the plugins folder, you could find out if its the new version of FM or if its the new version of T2 that is at fault.

i think we all should do this, so we can actually test to see if it truly is the t2 update issue or not. whose with me?
