While recording I just know that one time I'm going to press abort or abort and restart instead of the stop button and there by loose an entire potentially irreplaceable take :!:

I was thinking wouldn't it be good if either:

1. the abort and abort and restart buttons could be moved a little father away from the stop button, or

2. A dialogue box asks you to confirm that you want to abort or abort and restart, or

3. You have to shift click those buttons to make them work, or

4. everything stays as it is but if the unthinkable should happen and you press the wrong button, tracktion could keeps the aborted audio/midi in a temporary folder that you could retrieve.

my vote is for no.4 as i like the convenience of how things are at the moment.

i dont think you should be able to keep it, since it should be deleted.... Maybe ctrl-z could undo that, but i dont know... thats a touchy issue.

why don't you work with shortcuts instead, so no problem with accidently hitting the wrong button ?!

im personally just waiting for midi controlling transport so i can just pop on my tascam us428 which has been gathering much dust as of late ;)

I use the mouse sometimes and short cuts other times.

The user would never know that an aborted take has been saved.

I would suggest only ever keeping the last recording in temporary storage, the new one(s) overwriting the previous one(s)

soemthing like an "undo recording abort" or "recreate last recording" function would help you i guess :)
