Midi Solutions Event Processor Plus= the missing midi piece

Bought a Midi Solutions Event Processor Plus today.
You all need one. No lie.
It is a little box that will map any midi event to any other midi event....including CC#'s, note on/off, Start/stop. whatever.

In my case, my digital piano will only send CC#6 on the mod wheel. want to control a plugin parameter...no sweat....map CC#6 to CC#73 on midi channel 1, and map it to say, CC#78 on midi channel 2.

My useless start/stop switches meant for a sequencer on my digital piano can now toggle effects on and off. I can map the cc#'s from my Voce V5's drawbars to control NI B4 drawbars. Whatever....the possibilities are huge.

You guitar players with foot controllers that won't send what you want.....this is what you need tomorrow to fix it. Really.

Check out midisolutions.com for more info, or better still go through Ashbysolutions.com and check it out there. Bruce, who runs that company is a dealer, will give you the best price, and wrote a user's guide, which is on his site.

I'm not affiliated in any way....this just solves ALOT of Receptor midi issues.
Really.
Just check it out.

the MIDITEMP products are really cool!
I never had any MIDI problems (timing, hang-ups etc.) - even when working with 8 MIDI In's and Out's at the same time.
Very stable.

The costs:
MP 88: about 300 EUR
MP88W: about 500 EUR

PMM-88-E: (that's the version without sequencer functions): about 350 EUR.

look at eBay - there you can get familiar with that equipment..

PM me when any further questions...

So which of these ended up being the better product...?

for quick bandaid midi 'repairs', the convenience of midisolutions is great. no power needed since it draws from the midi out of the attached device. love it.

Post

Well, I'm more thinking of using it to control Receptor - what do you think?

Thanks a bunch Phil for the info. This is just what the doctor ordered! I play a MIDI accordion with no foot switch to turn the "MOD WHEEL" controller on and off to activate B4II's Leslie effect. I hope this will do it for me?

I have a Yamaha MEP4 in my studio, which is also a gret midi remapping solution. They occasionally tur up on eBay and are a lot cheaper than the Miditemp box (but those are available now, and probably have much better support than what Yammie will give a 15-year-old device... :D

But I have a couple of the midisolutions products, a bit of a chore to set up initially, but you theoretically only do it once.

PhilMuller, have a look at the MidiSolutions Footswitch (and Dual Footswitch) Controller. it converts a standard footswitch (or two on the dual) to a user-selectable midi message. Here's the link: http://www.midisolutions.com/prodfsw.htm

Now THAT'S a hell of a link! That box will also do Tap Tempo! Suddenly there's a way to control loop speed if your controllers don't send beat clock! Whoo-hoo... :D

Here's the link for the dual one:

Uses an external Y-adapter, which is a little annoying, but not a deal breaker.

ARGH! Just found another one:

This looks great - http://www.rocktron.com/frameset1.html

You can add expression pedals to it, which is perfect for me, I reckon - we may have a winner!
