Oh, don't encourage him. I spent all week trying to placate irate engineers over at the Kennedy Space Center, after he bombarded them with suggestions on what they were doing wrong with the shuttle. As for John G. Roberts, well it is my understanding that he has refused to accept *any* calls originating from Canada.mandolarian wrote:

Lunch, could you put a 2.0.1.4 version online @ BBugs so we poor damn fools trapped by confidence into updates can roll backward our latest version of T?

NOTHING to do with final mix!Lunch Money wrote:Yes, but somebody has already tried the new Final Mix in the old Tracktion and it worked fine.
Why do I feel like I'm repeating myself ad nauseum?

Ya the latency setting does seem to have an effect. But it still doesnt get rid of it. But saying any cpu hungry plug will do the same thing isn't correct - i put the previous version's final mix in the same spot and it works quite fine.

It doesn't matter. I'll say it one more time before I give up.
:
- The same crackling and popping has been exhibited in a NUMBER of different situations, some of them (like my own) not even including ANY plug-in. It's not limited to Final Mix work.
- Darcy went through the trouble of installing an older Tracktion, but with the NEW Final Mix. That's right, the NEW ONE, and it worked fine. Ergo, by using correct problem-solving procedure, and creating a situation in which both the new Tracktion and the new Final Mix were put to the test, the weak link is the new Tracktion.
That's about the last time I can say that before I start losing my cool.

I first noticed the FM distortion AFTER the update, in an edit using 50% ish CPU, FM and plenty of other plugs....simply swapping the updated FM out for a previous build solved it completely.
I've had no problems with any other plugs except FM. I don't have an old build of T2 to try this out, but the solution seems simple in light of the above - if the updated T2 is the problem, fix the update!

You people have no concept of problem-solving.
I'm not saying that the changes to Final Mix don't relate. What I'm saying is that it's the fundamental change to Tracktion that needs to be addressed. It's quite possible that whatever happened to Final Mix makes it play even less well with the latest Tracktion, but that doesn't mean it's to blame.
If the new Final Mix works perfectly in another situation (an older version of T), then how can IT be broken? It's not broken, it just doesn't play well with the latest T.
Why is this so hard to grasp? Why do people have no sense of logic? Why am I replying again when it's just making me lose my cool? Why does Jennifer Garner have such a large forehead? Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?
So many unanswerable questions....
