just a short reply.
I told about the slight difference just because of the octave difference, of course nothing more. we could say the cp-80 is probably more for experienced piano players.
Regarding playability, I just told I find the Prominy's one impressive and very satisfying, I could say "perfect". And having played other very cpu/memory hogger products like Scarbee's ones, I feel these softwares almost like the real thing (we can't have the hardware sensation of course). I partially agree with you regarding the technological issues: these things require well equipped machines. Actually I feel (and listen) the difference of running these things now, compared to the setup I had a couple years ago on a powerbook. Probably details, like you say, but to me details and subtle sensations are very important.
Of course I spent money trying to make a "pro" setup, but I am satisfied. And ram and hard disks (luckily) are always getting cheaper!
Who knows, maybe I could get your CP to run it on my powerbook for a "lighter" cpu/memory setting, why not! I know your reputation and I've often appreciated the stuff on your site
I can only say that for customers and musicians it's wonderful to have always more products to fight for quality against each other, so let's everybody do their choices (trying/listening to demos, etc.).
