Thought I would let you guys know MY procedure for updating any of the unsupported plugins.

say you installed 1.0 of Nusoftings DK plus drum module.
Luigi makes an update to 1.4

1.Copy over the previous DLL with the new one.

2.Delete the receptor cache file for the plugin ( in the same directory)

3.Reboot receptor holding down the Multi button. When you see "loading patch", keep hold for a few seconds, then let go. Its going thru the cache. Receptor boots up with an empty mix screen.

4.Go to setup and make sure the *unsupported* box is checked. It will go thru a scan process for a few minutes. Then when you see * 1 file to install*, click the install button and everything should install .

5.Go back to the MIX screen and instigate the plugin.

Does this sound right Musers?

as a matter of fact, thats how I updated my DK plus !!

hmmm...just tried something.

I just copied the new version DLL over the old one, then instigated it in receptor, and the new version came up. Maybe thats all you have to do ?? Guess I was being too careful with the above method?

It seems to work because the plug-in is cached. Next time you install something, or if you restart with the MULTI button pressed, the new version will fail.

So you were right the first time. Remove the file that has the same name as the plug-in, but ends with "-info-cache.xml" and re-install the plug-in from the SETUP page.

p.s. You can skip step 3 (reboot with the MULTI down).

You were right about that. Adter I rebooted, it was gone! so did what you say, and have it back again
