I just bought Echo Gina 3G audio interface which is working great. Now I tried to play a little with the bundled Tracktion 1. However, I can't set up the Gina properly in Tracktion settings. The main Gina outs (channels 1 and 2) don't appear in Tracktion settings, only outputs 3 - 6 are there. That's with the Echo WDM drivers. With DirectX drivers I can get the main outputs to use, but I really would prefer WDM (Asio) drivers for a better performance. The problem isn't in the Echo drivers themselves, because they work fluently in other programs I use, Sonar 3 and FLStudio. I tried to reinstall the Tracktion, but it didn't help. Any ideas?

WDM and ASIO are two different drivers. Try choosing the ASIO drivers in the settings tab. Also make sure the inputs you want are activated, meaning they have a green check, instead of a red x.

I understand that WDM and ASIO are different, but on Echo drivers, the ASIO 2.0 driver is named Echo WDM. And I don't have any additional ASIO in the settings, there's only DirectX, that Echo WDM, and NONE. When I select the WDM, it only shows ouputs from 3 to 6, so I can't enable the outs 1 and 2, in which my monitors are connected.

I found the solution. The ouputs 1 and 2 wasn't there because Windows was using them as a default device, so they were 'taken'. When I changed the default device from windows settings, it released them, and now they are available in Tracktion.

Cool, glad you got it working (No thanks to me :hihi: )

Yeah, I've got an Echo Mia on my desktop (which is sadly sleeping in a box right now) and it calls the driver ASIO WDM, which is odd, because you'd think they're two separate drivers.

Well I sold my Gina card (and it was an old GINA1 card)but as far as I remember ASIO and the ECHO WDM are not the same.
In the GINA ASIO Advanced settings panel you can choose between them. (they do show up as one in T though)

Also if you select output 1 and 2 in T first and then later select the same outputs in Windows they will both use it fine unless you try to use them at the same time.
In other words make sure Windows is not using the outputs when you start T otherwise you will loose it again.

I love Echo stuff. I wish they'd come out with a firewire "Mia" or "Gina", as they did with the Layla. the Echofire 8 is basically a firewire Layla.

Nice stuff though, for sure.

Yea, Echo stuff is great.

And it does have separate WDM and ASIO drivers, in Sonar you can select between ASIO and WDM/KS, and they are actually named like that :D But softwares without WDM support (Tracktion?) apparently use the same ASIO driver, but for some reason it's named ASIO WDM.

Maybe that's what it was that I was thinking. I've always used programs that either had just WDM, or just ASIO, but not both, as Sonar does.

Petronome is right. I'm in a situation like him. Got my Gina3G couple of weeks ago. :)

Too bad that the upgrade to T2 doesn't apply for the copy that I've got with the soundcard. :(
