Not final, remember you are going to implement the psychedelic crap at some point for all the acid-heads in the audience. Right?

Wow it is easier than I expected to create a controling MIDI track.
I have a suggestion that I think will make lyric "tracks" much easier to create and would probably be easy to program.
First the user types up all the lyrics (or paste whatever) into one page (generally the first page I guess). Then the user selects the font and size desired.

Oh yeah, I'll tell you something
I think you'll understand
When I'll say that something+
I want to hold your hand,
I want to hold your hand,
I want to hold your hand.+

THIS WOULD NOT BE DISPLAYED--

Oh please, say to me
You'll let me be your man*
And please, say to me
You'll let me hold your hand.+
Now let me hold your hand,
I want to hold your hand.+

Then the user would push a "split text" button and it would automatically create the pages with the same font and style as the parent page.

-- after a line means don't display this line
* represents a split point with next line preview
+ represents a split point with next line preview

A little button and a text operation and it's easy as pie for the user to have the lyrics knocked out.
What do you think Haydxn?

well rock, it seemed like a fun challenge before bed, so i put it in
it's in the special easter-egg version TrackPAD2Xb...
HIDDEN FEATURE: script-parser is activated by RIGHTCLICKING the font-size control, and only happens if you've got ONE page (which you put your script in).
incase anyone else fancies trying it...
download TrackPAD2Xb!
EDIT: it's nowhere near perfect, but it does the trick if you either PASTE the script in or type it into the box. It can be a bit weird if you do a combination of both tho - the reason being, for anyone who cares, the fact that PASTING and TYPING creates two different types of newline character, which makes it a bugger to parse, so it determines which is appropriate. If there's a mixture then it gets confused!
download the normal version... TrackPAD2X!
Right, bed time, and seriously no more on this from me for a while! else i'll be in trouble!!

warning- 2Xb is just an experimental version, it seems that it's prone to doing some weird things, which doesn't surprise me given that the script parser was an uber-quick hack together. for general use, i'd stick to version 2X in the other thread. sorry guys!
patches are compatible across the two versions tho

i didn't dare put a news submission in... it'd just get loads of people complaining that it doesn't work properly in their hosts
one day when i've no other work to do i'll figure out how to get the keyboard focus issue sorted properly and then ...
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

okay next you have to have a button that converts the mouse icon into a resizable ball so we can draw the ball over the words as it goes along.
just used this with a client and they love it. Freaking karaoke to their own songs, great job guys!!!
