great idea with the bottled water.. I might just get some cups with lids (like a sports bottle) and use that.

I guess that just depends on where in the world you are..

here where its been in the lower 100s (with the heat index around 120F) the past few days.. my younger cat has enjoyed splaying out on her tummy while on the cool floor..

that and she loves water, especially from the bathtub.. also, she's learned how to cup her paw and use it as a hook of sorts to drag her water dish around the kitchen. :hihi:

my older cat doesnt have such an affinity to water. instead, she loves to find a dark, quiet place and snooze most of the day away. then again if I was 14 (or so) in cat years, I'd probably sleep loads too. :hihi:

my cat likes anything with a sharp edge. so she will love to rub her whiskers on anything at her level that has a nice defined corner.. especially if it is new or just cleaned.i think thats how they leave their scent. all cats are different though, just like people.

Our younger one does that. Especially on books. That you are holding up. Because you're reading.

When she eats and poops (in the cat box, not in your bed or so) you know that she's really settled in :)

Don't worry, she'll produce more later than she brings forth now :) And don't be suprised if you wake up because she's cleaning your nose or ears or something while you're sleeping. When you have just one cat, they usually consider you as part of their flock and hence cleans you. They can be very affective if you have only one of them, but do consider getting one more later on, so that she doesn't have to spend so much time alone in the apartment when you're away.

Fun thread. What about pics?

Well. I've got two felines, brother and sister, in our apartment. Only problem with the "studio" is that boy cat likes to talk while I'm recording. I've come to the conclusion that cat talk (and traffic noise) is an integral part of my "sound" ;-)

Only problem with equipment was with my (expensive, $1000+ apiece) Hi-Fi speakers. Girl cat used front as climbing post - needed four new units. Luckily I know the company that makes the speakers, so they replaced them for free. Great guys.

A few have talked about having cats in apartments. We have no problems, other than boy cat insists on being walked every day - like a dog in harness and all. We're entertaining the entire neighbourhood.

Good luck with the cat!

Oh, yeah, they've abused speaker front thingies at my place as well. forgot about that. I just removed the fronts and they stopped bothering the speakers.

I sometimes take my cat for a walk as well, Annas cat is just afraid when being outdoors :)

it's a throwback to kittenhood - kittens paw around the mother's nips to stimulate milk production...

Well, the real reason is they are checkin the 'nest' to make sure nothing is in it ;)

Cats are the offspring of satans bastard offspring anyway, and should all be.........sent abroad.

cats rock!

Bit late replying to this, but I have two cats. Sometimes one of them sleeps on top of my computer tower but otherwise not a problem!

However, one cat has taken to sometimes actually sleeping on top of my 16 channel mixer...Can't be comfortable!

:? :?
