ttoz, how about if something bugs you, (like this, for example) you just make a post saying "i think this is a bug" and someone can say "oh, yeah looks like a bug, we'll fix it".

you're about 20 times more dramatic than our own dear ron!

I dont understand. So, the audio files are there but they're not in the right spot within the edit?

i think he means there's a bug that causes the project view to display the ORIGINAL file locations instead of the new locations

It's not even a bug, really, it's the absence of a potentially complicated feature. The reason it does this is because the 'file locations' are not actually file locations. They're descriptions. It's giving you the description of the file, which could be anything (you could use that text field to describe the sound of a recording, for example). It just happens to default to an 'imported from...'. I guess it might be beneficial if T would check the descriptions on importing an archived edit to see if they contained a path/filename, and changing it to it's current location if so.. but that might actually piss someone off too. And, as it goes, there's absolutely no need for you to be able to see the entire file path for the wave clips. why? i'll tell you!

As unusable as tracktion has suddenly become with this discovery, i point you towards the properties panel. Next to the filename of the selected clip, if you click the button you can open the folder that the files are contained in. If you've imported an archive, i'd wager that ALL the files would be in there. And you don't even need to know the location to find them somewhere, it'll just open it (the folder... containing all the files... so you can do whatever you could possibly dream of with them...) for you wherever that may be.

ttoz,

Why not just admit you've got writers block and ask for some help?
It could save you a fortune on all these toys you keep buying and rejecting.

ttoz, I don't understand what the problem is? As haydxn just explained, if we are understanding your complaint correctly, the description just states where the original files came from. What is wrong with having that information versus no information at all. I could understand a request to not have it add the comment automatically. Is that what you are after? Or are we not understanding your problem?

ttoz what exactly is your problem?

why do you need to know the full path of all the files? why not put something descriptive in the description field or leave it as is instead of wasting your time typing in the full path? what do you gain from having the full path of all the files written on the project page? what exactly do you DO with this info?

and what blows about the fact that with a single button you can open a folder up... the EXACT folder that you so desperately need to know about... with ALL the files just sitting there waiting to be cuddled and played with... they're just in the next room ttoz! what do you gain from having every file show you the filename in the project page? how does that improve your life? what part of the "open the folder containing this file" actually blows, and how does it hinder your performace?

or, perhaps, what (tf) is your problem?

Hi all 2p from subject!!

during beta testing i stole a edit from my test boot (because i liked it) but i dident arkive it because it had no audio in it,

all worked fine, intill i re-added a project that was missing from my project list,

then i got a error saying that "this project has the same id as another project"

now when ither of the 2 projects are loaded (i have to remove one from the project list to add the other) thay are just empty!

if i then re-import all files from that project folder in to that project & run my edit, it loads with all audio files missing (only blank clips showing) & if you select the clip to try find out the name & parth it thinks the audio is at, it just says "unknown" as opposed to it saying c:\traction tunes\NAME of project\Name of wav.wav

witch was a bummer but totoly my falt from moving the projects between my dule boot

dont know if it is a similer problem tottz is having
