Wow, just did a search on KVR to find out what the hell happened to osXaudio.com over a month ago and found you guys. I hope it comes back up soon. Anyone know anything on the status?
When it returns, it would be nice if they actually updated the home page at least one time a week w/ new products. I can't remember the last time they put anything new on the home page.
Do you guys still have a temp. forum set up somewhere?
Bill

If they -DONT- come back in a month or so couldn't Ben or someone set up a Mac/OSX forum on kvr? I always found both kvr and osxa friendly places but that osxrecording place is nose in the air rubbish.

I know I'm sticking my neck out, but I really don't think osxaudio will still be out in a month!

I've checked out osxrecording.com and he seems to be picking up where osxausio left off. it's almost the same thing, except with news that's updated.

Billy,
IMHO, it can't be the same thing yet. What makes osxaudio so great is not the forum structure or updated news (or lack of it!
). It's the members, like Putte, Urs, Kanker, TQ, Heritage, Atariboy, Airy, Oink, PBone, Hyerstay, etc, etc, etc. When you have a good number of quality, regular posters, then you have a kick-*ss forum!

I'm with you on that, so how do we get everyone to go there? I like KVR, but it's not the same thing. I'm not osxaudio is coming back and the guy that runs the new site seems to have time to maintain it.Ned Bouhalassa wrote:Billy,

I think that it is time for the guy who runs it (I am sure he is a great guy) to realize that he doesn't have the time to run and maintain the site, and pass the buck to someone new.
It would be cool if he realized that he is ruining a good thing.
Granted, it has been a blessing in disguise for me (I have branched out and learned some new things that I would otherwise not have learned on OSXAudio), but I love and miss OSXAudio.

tdc (OSXA founder) just finished the 10 month build of a new studio at the Sydney Opera house and will be able to give more of his time to OSXA. However, Heritage, kanker, oink and I, along with the moderators, have been doing most of the day-to-day work there for a long time and will continue to do as much as we can in the future. If tdc gives us access to the news section, we can take care of just about everything, and tdc can contribute when and where he can.
Last week, since I hadn't heard from tdc for a while, I was actually prepared to take over the hosting and put up a replacement site. I even bought two domains, built an entire phpBB site and got Heritage and kanker on board. However, I wasn't willing to take it live without tdc's blessing. Heritage and kanker finally got ahold of him, and tdc himself sent me an email a few days agp, with some good news.
Apparently, the site has actually been up and running for the last three weeks or so, but there have been DNS issues and problems with the MX records or something--they were lost or missing or something. Anyway, OSXA is alive and well, it just needs to have the domain point at the right IP where tdc now has a dedicated T1 line just for OSXA!
I wish I had more details, but tdc assured us that he has been on the case of his ISP/hosting people to get this DNS/MX record stuff sorted so we can get moving again. So please hold tight and we should be back on track in the near future.
