I've been trying to groove quantize a track in Tracktion in order to fit it better with an RX2 loop I have in Reason. I can't seem to find a place in tracktion where I can load a midi file in order to perform the quantize, though. Nor can I find any way to "get" the groove from a specific set of midi notes and use it on another set.

How is this done in Tracktion? I'm guessing this can't be done...

(sorry for the noob question, I though after using Tracktion for 1.5 years I wasn't one anymore :) )

you would have to examine the midi file of the said GROOVE then analyse how much each note is ahead or behind the beat of a quantise measure. This includes determining how many beats\notes per bar your groove has. Then setting up the groove template in Tracktion to match what you want to do your groove. You have to have a fully quantised track for it to work, it will only work so long as the not is one the beat, half beat, or whatever measure you have set.

Another option is to just import the midi file of the original groove, or the file that is grooving the way you want, zoom right in and compare notes and drag the notes you wish to apply the groove to by hand. I do this quite often with audio parts and midi notes with some effect, plus, you are going to insert your own vibe to that part too...
