Looping is irritating

Which is an easy process.
But, I never do so anyways. I simply click on the desired track (which autoselects the parts on it, another nice feature) or part, set the locator at the desired song location, press CTRL+C, CTRL+V and L to stop it from looping. Probably a matter of milliseconds - with the additional advance of the original loop stopping things, so I could probably alter it to suit the stop even better.

HI

I was not aware of the 'L' command in Logic - now that makes a lot of sense - in fact if I was a host dev reading this I would implement it asap: let's not kid ourselves - this is the kind of thing that can make life a lot easier.

Other than that - for repetative (!) midi loops I just copy the loop and paste it, copy and paste the pair that you now have ad infinitum.

yes, it's all easy enough - however personally I like eXT's crtl+d command the most... (which works on multiple selected clips) :-D

Still need to get into eXTs sequencer. But then, I usually end up starting Logic whenever I boot my music machine.

Btw, Flipper, you're using SX now, right? Try holding ALT, then move your mouse to the lower right corner of a part, until it changes into a pencil tool. Now click and drag right - this will nicely create copies until you release the mouse button. Also working for multiple selected parts. Sorta like ACIDs dragging functionality, just implemented a tad better (it's been a while since I've been fooling around with ACID).

HI

No, I am currently using XT on several commercial remixes I am helping my son with!

I am actually trying to sell SX, although if the update that comes through any time now improves performance I might just hold on to it.

XT's midi is very comfortable - if only the automation was more to my liking - this is where Live has impressed me!

I don't care what I use as long as it feels good, if this means using several host's then so be it - they are all pretty usable if you put a couple of weeks in learning them!

I've always been a fan of Acids click-drag looping. Couple that with z.plane elastique or mpex timestretch/pitchshift and I'd be a happy camper. One can always dream.
