NUSofting presets SubFix a bass enhancer VST plugin.

Currently available as free beta for Windows,
it will be released for Windows and as AU/VST for OS X as well.

The beta version expires on 30/09/2005,

What it's for:

SubFix adds harmonic content to the bass range frequencies,
so it can be used as phycoacoustic bass enhancer on a mix
in the mastering process, to have bigger basses or to target
the mix to small multimedia speakers (replacing the inaudible low frequency
with relative harmonics).

But SubFix is designed also to enhance a single bass track, you can
use it as insert in a synth or sampler bass track to add the missing punch.

Please report bugs and suggestions.

Controls:

Frequency: the crossover frequency in Hz, below this threshold the sound is processed

Sub gain: the level of the processed input

Treble gain: the level of the unprocessed input

Rich: the amount of harmonic generation

Solo Sub: bass only monitoring

Solo Rich: processed signal only monitoring

HPF Rich: extra boosting of the harmonic generation

Note: green to yellow led change is around zero dB

While SubFix does a similar job to CLAS (for example), it sure has a different flavor. I think one can never have too many exciters to choose from - ergo: USEFUL

the beta.. had to temporarily switch my time back to august to get it to work..

I had downloaded it ages ago but never had any time to test it.. until now.

would I buy it? well if i was in the buying mood.. maybe.. if it was priced well
