IIRs

I only got a chance to briefly try your plug and sadly, the results were mixed. Before I go into that, though, I want to thank you again for going to the trouble of trying to help out a stranger. Very much appreciated.

To test it, I just sequenced one, long chord that spanned many measures and fed it through RW into GS3 on a choir patch. I tried stopping and starting several times (with your STFU plug right before ReWire) and about half the time GS3 stopped notes when the transport was stopped; the other half it didn't, and I could see no difference other than position on the roll, so it seemed completely random.

I'll have to use it more extensively and see if it works enough of the time to serve as a temporary workaround. Hopefully they'll clear this issue up very soon, though.

Thanks again!
Dave

Is that any improvement, or is that what happens without the plug? I could try making a version with a small delay between pressing stop and sending the message, see if that works any better..

It is an improvement since I only have to mess with my controller about half the time, so I am indeed happy to have it. Do you think a delay might make it work better? Do you have any theories as to why it would behave inconsistently?

BTW, IIRs, I don't want you to trouble yourself much more because I'm still waiting for someone from Raw Material or Mackie to respond to my post in that forum and they may tell me the bug will be fixed soon. If so, I can get by okay for a while.

I'm not sure if it will help, but it will only take a few minutes to throw it together: I'm a Tracktion beta tester, so just doing my duty really :hihi: hang on..

IIRs, thanks I'll try it tonight. Actually, one of the best things you could do to help would be to just let RMS/Mackie know whenever it is that you make contact with them next that this problem exists. I don't seem to be getting much attention on the RMS board, either from Ben or from any other GS3/T2 users. I also posted at Sonic Control and got no responses.

Will do, but I can't test for it myself so the more info you can give us the better.. if this plug works it might help Jules track down the problem quicker ;)

Okay, I got it. Still at work right now :D so I'll get back to you tomorrow. Let me know if there's anyhting you'd like me to try in order to get a better handle on what's going on. I have tried it with different patches (so far NDB pipes and Siedlaczek's Classical Choir) and I've tried it with and without additional filters other than reWire and gotten the same result, and, without your STFU in place, it has happened every time I stopped the sequence.

Talk to you again soon,
Dave
