Hey guys, so I have this song that I almost had complete and it has both audio and midi data. Unfortunately I was a dummy and set the song tempo to double what it really is. So when I went to do my drum tracks in Jamstix, it sounds like my drummer is on crack cause it's playing twice as fast as it's supposed to. The problem is, when I cut the song tempo in half, all the MIDI clips in the file become twice as long as they should be and the whole song just becomes a mess. I need some help here. How can I cut the tempo in half without messing up all my already recorded midi tracks???

Btw, there is a Half Tempo option in Jamstix like most drum software programs. However, this only cuts the kick and snare in half, so they sound normal but the hihats, cymbals, crashes, and fills sound way too fast. Also, in Jamstix, this option doesn't show up in most of the modes.

You might try exporting the whole midi track to a single file and then using a midi event list editor to manually change the bpm to the desired setting. Import it back in and you should be good. Note: This is a theory, not something I've actually tried. So let me know if it works. :)
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

timecode -> re-map clip positions when tempo is changed (turn it off)

You can also easily halve or double the tempo of a midi clip by <alt>-dragging the triangles in the top corners..

Thanks guys. IIRs, your suggestions worked great. I turned off the re-map clip positions and cut the tempo in half. Then I just had to double the size of each clip (because now half the data is beyond the edge of the clip) and then alt-drag them back to normal size to bring them back to the correct tempo. Fortunately most of my clips were the same size so I was able to do all the resizing at once.
