New, weird bug. Should I be getting nervous yet?

Recently, three times now, T2 has closed itself completely in a weird instance. It happens when I close one project and start a new one. Before I can open the first new edit screen, it asks me if I want to discard changes in the edit of the last project (I leave this on as the default just in case I forget to save). When I click discard changes, it just closes T2 completely instead of opening the new edit screen.

Not a disaster, but it makes the old already-jittery-from-too-much-coffee nervous system just a hair more jumpy.

:hihi:

I had shut downs with the new update v.4 and rolled back to v.13

I thought .13 was newer than .4 .

no both are quite old numbers that came out around the same time :hihi:

.4 was the first commercial release, followed a little later by .13 - which sorted out a few bugs in the original.

As for the problem - never seen it here (running .13)

So are you saying that in the next/latest beta version that you and a few others might have, this is no longer a problem/issue?

I think he was referring to the early Arabian numeric system ported to western society as a whole...

Ah, that would explain it then :hihi:

I have been getting wierd shutdowns as well.

It is always when I select a track, all of a sudden T shuts down.

If I uninstall, clear the temp files and then reinstal - everything is fine for a few days. Then it comes back.

I had to revert back to the previous release.

I have had this happen a few times as well. The most recent was last night. I am using the 1st release of T2.

Have any of you checked whether your Windows Registry has become cluttered? I find that regular housekeeping in the Windows registry keeps things running more smoothly.

I'm using Registry Medic, which was recommended in Sound on Sound by Martin Walker... available here: www.iomatic.com

I will give it a try, but this machine is really only used for music and there's not a lot of installing/uninstalling software so there shouldn't be a lot of problems there.

My laptop is *mostly* used for music applications too... but a few months back I was having a number of problems (especially with my wave editor). I got hold of the Registry Medic and ran its diagnostic. To my horror it found around 2,300 bad entries!! Most were music related (especially to do with the many VSTs I demo/try out).
It's worth checking at least :)
