Can you rout a track to a MIDI output as well as an audio?

I'd like to be able to run my MIDI all the way through some VSTi's and have it come out through the s/c MIDI output to trigger my h/w synths, but also have the audio from the VSTi's come out at the same time. I know you can run MIDI all the way through a rack, but how do you get it out of the end of the track but also have audio come out the end of the track (or rout it to come out another track, or whatever---I just want to use MIDI to trigger VSTi's and external synths simultaneously and hear them all together in r/t).
Thanks much,
Dave

Set up a rack that does nothing but connect its midi in to its midi out. Now copy this to each track you wish to share midi.. it doesn't matter whether these tracks route to an audio out via a VSTi, or directly to a midi out.

What host? I just bounce to track in Sonar. This records the audio output of the softsynth and sets it to a new audio track. you could then remove the softsynth keep the midi track and route as you like.

IIRs, thanks. I still have to get your new plug on and try it. I've been preoccupied with synths this weekend, but I'll get to it soon.IIRs wrote:Set up a rack that does nothing but connect its midi in to its midi out. Soooo...this MIDI-through rack just replicates the MIDI input wherever you put it. That's just all kinda cool!IIRs wrote:Set up a rack that does nothing but connect its midi in to its midi out.
