Very subjective. I like Sonar okay, but I don't use the console view much. Most of my time's spent in other windows. *shrug* Dark is hard for me to see. YMMV.

Nuendo! You really got to be kidding this visual artist and musician. That looks as though you're in very dim lights at mid-night. Anyhow, no flame wars. It's just for fun. :)

While I love working with Sonar's console (bussing to die for), I'm not too fond of the look of it. I mean, if I want to push sliders that look like that I'll use the ones on my Spirit Folio.
Whoever designed Live got it right- it's graphics, not a physical console.

More personal preference for you, I think console views are just plain ugly, all cluttered and trying to fit too much info in to too small, and just plain wrong, of a format for a computer display.

But I agree at least that, to my eyes, Live's and Nuendo's look better than the one in Sonar. Can anyone post screenshots for SX, Logic 7, DP or Sequoia (or SAW or whatever, can never remember what does what there).

it is a really customizable mixer, this is it's 'tallest' view, there are two shorter views as well. and per channel you can of course customize tons of shit about just about anything

its not perfect but i've tried all the hosts and this is just the one that works best for me, for the sorts of stuff i do. it's got everything i want, it seems to work the way i think/expect it to, and i've really just come to love it to bits

Samplitude. Don't use it but it looks great.

Looks nice, but what a waste of screen space. Those EQ
s take up half the screen.

My vote is Ableton Live. That's what DAW software should look like, clean and efficient.

I'll vote for Tracktion. But if thats not available I'll vote for Cubase SX. If you're gonna have a console, it might aswell be full featured and great looking like SX's.

Good progam, way too expensive though. I can't think of anything it does that other comperable/less expensive programs don't do.

Samp is like protools, you either have two screens or just toggle.......

Hmmmmmmm, come to think of that, I do that with live......and did it with sonar....
