Why did we bother with the 60's, punk and Public Enemy when the highlight of TV is to walk out of TOTP's?

Three cheers for people of tonnage who sit on the plastic ken's and barbie's who pass for musicians these days. People can loose weight but plastic is there for life.

there were many plastic popstars in the 60's ,and during the punk and hiphop eras too, very few punk, or hiphop classics got to no.1 in the charts...or even onto TOTP..they used to ban a lot of the best stuff
i don't think it's worth worrying about the plastic..it was always there
