Yeah - asides from some fairly heavy bugs concerning disk buffering. I wouldn't bother.M'Snah wrote:What's wrong with Tracktion? Either 1 or 2? It's still the best.
Good host for audio tracks?

last I've read it was high up on the to do list, but no, not possible yet or I would have bought it already.Kaos Axiom wrote:Hmmm. EXT looks very promising.
What I need in the host is loop recording and for it to be able to make/program time signature changes.
Say 20 bars of 4/4 and then go in to 5/8 for 4 bars and then back to 4/4.......
Does anybody know if EXT can do it?

dee ess pee, I can understand people not liking Tracktion, but it's absolutely insane to recommend krystal over it. Also interesting are the protools and sawstudio recommendations....
Sonar, Audition, and (from what I hear, regarding the latest releases) n-track aren't off the wall, though.
Personally, I go for Tracktion. The 'rough edges' are being aggressively attacked, despite what some people may think. I'm fortunate enough to be a little bit more involved, as a beta tester, and while I obviously can't go into detail, I can assure anyone and everyone that it is by no means being ignored.
The stability of T1 makes me very confident that T2 will soon have those rough edges removed... and the only reason (strictly in my opinion, no one has ever said this to me) it's rough at all is all the pressure to release.

Yes, if you can be limited to 32 total tracks and have an maudio compatible soundcard (mpowered) this is really the best AUDIO host out there....Churchy wrote:protools of course
Oh and it does midi better than you think
You might want to consider live 5.........I cannot get over how well it works, I cannot believe how much fun it is........and it's really really stable....BUT!

And that's one aspect I don't understand at all, why was this not implemented from the start? I mean, is there anything more basic than tempo when making music? This is the most ridiculous oversight.

It is Jörgen. Jules developed Tracktion.Ezy Ryder wrote: Jules? I thouht the dev name was Jorgen.

As far as tempo changes goes. Unfortunately 99.9% of all popular music is under 3 mins long and it stays in 4/4 so from a marketing and developing standpoint. It is not really that important. Most people use these apps to make dance oriented and straight forward music.
I bought XT anyway and I am loving it!!

You might want to check out Podium as well then. Very capable, imo. Takes a while to understand it's different design if you're used to some other sequencer, apart from that, everything is soooo elegantly thought-outKaos Axiom wrote:I guess you haven´t bee to the Europe T2 threadM'Snah........(aka HansM) wrote:What's wrong with Tracktion? Or the "Freelunch" one.

T was my first choice, but I need loop recording which is only available in T2 and I can not pay over 200+$ for it right now.

I ended up buying that too for my Prog Metal projectsstefancrs wrote: You might want to check out Podium as well then. Very capable, imo. Takes a while to understand it's different design if you're used to some other sequencer, apart from that, everything is soooo elegantly thought-out
Unfortunately the project fizzled out before I could get anything done
I love Podium but I use lots of FX and the way things work in the lay out just does not lend itself to using them so I am waiting for a change in the FX use. Frits already said he will be doing something about it.

Ah, yeah, I think he will support having several effects in series directly on one channel. Hopefully it'll just be a visual thing. Like a "merge" of channels, so that you later on can unmerge them if you decide that you want to send another track into the same chain of inserts, but not at the start of the chain. And so forth
