Hello. New Tracktion2 user in Sweden here. I have been trying out the demo for a couple of weeks and got the boxed version yesterday.
Is it possible to close a project without closing Tracktion altogether? I have found that I sometimes need to change the latency when mixing, and then when I go back to the edit page I get error messages from my UAD-1 plug-ins because of the change. So to avoid this I have to close and restart Tracktion after changing the latency. I suppose the error messages could be avoided if it was possible to just close the project and then re-open it after the change. Or have I missed something here?
Regards,
Carl

have you tried pressing "restart device" in the audio settings page?

Yeah, what error messages are you seeing. I would change the latency, and select restart device. You shouldn't get an error. What audio interface are you using by the way?

Yes, I always do that and it seems to work as far as the sound card goes (Emu 1820m), it's just that error message for the UAD-1 plug-ins that annoys me. Anyway, it's just a minor inconvenience.

I'm not by my music computer right now. I'll play around with it some more later this evening and will copy the text from the error message. I don't think the message is from Tracktion but rather from the UAD-1 software.

Yeah if you could post a screenshot of the errors that would be best. They shouldn't happen and I haven't heard this before. DJ Subject has a similar setup, have you seen this before subs?

Ben
reseting the audio device dosent reset the uad-1
my workaround is to just open a blank edit & then open the edit i am working on
i have tryed every other way around it, that i can think of, but the uad-1 just wont have it, it seems to sample lock intill you unload all plugins,
OT; this also causes big problems in sonar witch seems to have a different buffer setting for the beginning of each loop
but this is a uad-1 problem not a T2 problem.
IMO, the uad-1 plugins are well worth it
@ ThereIsNoLimitEr;
how are you finding the EMU1820 asio drivers?
i have lots of problems with them in most hosts!
if you are only using the "defalt output" from T2 & not several outputs then i would recomend "asio4all"
its a free app that you can find by googleing ASIO4ALL
all the best

OK Thanks Subz, can you email me a screen shot of those warnings. I'll forward it to my guy at UAudio.

djsubject: I really haven't had the kind of troubles that others seem to have had with Emu's drivers. It has worked well for me in Cubase VST5.1 and SX3, and seems to work very well with Tracktion as well.
I did get lower latency with the 1.60 drivers than the 1.80 ones though. I could do tracking and playback (without effects or several VST instruments) at 2 ms with the previous ones but now I must do it at 4 or 7 ms. But it works well, it never craps out or anything. I guess I'm lucky, but I also don't think I have really pushed the interface to its limits. My projects are usually small, 12-15 tracks maybe, and not too many native VST instruments or effects.
The only thing that hasn't worked well is PowerFX whithin Cubase. I sometimes get distortion. My initial tests with PowerFX in Tracktion seem to give a better results though. But I'm not really using PowerFX anyway since I got the UAD-1.
I know about the ASIO4ALL drivers but haven't really had a reason to try them out yet, but thanks for the tip.
Btw, thanks for your replies guys.

I've seen that screen before too... at least now I know a workaround to fix it. Thanks
