this is a good idea, Ron

I had the same idea while I was reading page one of this thread, but alas, you get all the credit cause you got to the patent office first :)

You do know that you can set the DELETE key to just pass through as normal, right?

All keymaps in MKey are user editable, and a couple of things you can do are:

1) set the key to react like a piano key (the reason most people use MKey).

2) set the key to be ignored by MKey (the host will receive that key as if MKey was inactive, but other keys will be trapped as normal be MKey).

3) set the key to transmit an alternate keystroke (you could, for example, have the pause key act as a delete key if the delete key is already part of your piano map).
I knew that, but I'm lazy. I leave it at default and it works fine. I just hate when I want to delete a filter, I highlight it and hit delete, and it goes nowhere. ...I guess I'll have to remap the delete key. :?

Off-topic question: wasn't MKey being updated? I know I ask this every so often, but I use it almost daily.

It was, it is, but I lost the source code, which :

a) makes a weeks' worth of work into a small project
b) means I have no way of making keymaps backward compatible :(

I got as far as writing the new integrated keymap editor, but I'm doing this project in JUCE (the libraries that Tracktion is built on) and lost motivation as the JUCE adds an extra learning curve to the whole deal.

the only reason i can think of is if you're lazy like me and leaning back in your chair. you can still use the mouse (i have a habbit of using my laser mouse by holding it sideways and running my finger along the sensor) but if u need to use the keyboard then you have to sit up which kills workflow :hihi:
but in this case right clicking the filter and selecting delete from the menu is easy enough.
