crumbs i missed this one. i updated the TrackPAD plugin so that it responds to midi and has multiple pages, which means that you can program a MIDI track to change the pages of the pad, and thus display different text for different parts of the song. this could be for chord tabs or even a sort of karaoke guide for your vocalists to use.

the only thing is some hosts don't pass it the keyboard presses properly, which i'll hope to get fixed one day. til then you can at least paste the text in from notepad when using such hosts.

Actually... not funny at all. I find myself using one all the time. Especially when a song is still in the 'idea development' stage... I can't tell you how many pieces of paper with chords, progressions, and all kinds of quick notes on patches and settings I have misplaced.

Now I just make notes within the project itself. Nothing hurts more than scratching out a good chord progression, and then not remembering what it was later!

trackpad's midi page implementation is AWESOME and i helped with the idea of it

I use it sometimes to put lyrics on my 2nd monitor for clients when singing!

Another VST notepad was created by NicFit and can be found at:

This notepad can also be automated to change pages according to CC message etc...

There is also a very useful and comprehensive flash tutorial on how to use it in EnergyXT which is pretty useful.

Tobybear's VST chess plugin has to be the best VST game. I play this with a friend a fair bit, and the computer opponent is even smart.
