Hi folks

i know there are better places in KvR for this but i wanted to post it here!

i have had lots of trouble with this mix! mostly having problems in getting the phazing right on the drums its not a kit but a loop i cut up

please listen & give any feedback on how i could make the mix sit better (but rember the drums are made from a cut up loop so thay are not layered, some kiks have hi hats on them ECT ECT)

the tune is in ogg format & should play in media player (if you have net access for updates) it will also play in T1 or T2

what do you mean by "phasing"?

i made a stereo wave mono, but not by picking one side only, i just merged both channels (wish i kept the fliping thing stereo)

so all the drum samples have realy bad phazing (like a wishy washy sound over them)

that phazing in the beats is not the mp3 compreshion (well maby some of it is)

Well, I would probably try to fix it with IQ4pro.. but I use that for nearly everything

Expanding the bass frequencies upwards should help to put the thump back in.. but most mp3s sound wishy washy to me!

You could try a Mackie 3-band comp with the low band set for upward expansion..

Whichever sounds better.. but usually its better to get the mix right then to process it afterwards.

Try this 3-band comp preset on the drum group. (as a starting point obviously!)

Not bad. What did you use for bass?

logic's es1 was used for bass'

but it was then renderd to sep tracks & remixed down in T2

that preset instentley was a BIG help!!!

i chainged it a bit (only raised the lo & hi comp gain)

but i could instently here a added fullness loading that preset on my drum bus
