Why are there little click sounds in some recorded audio? Is there a way to have it cancel recording when it hits hiccups like this so I know when to throw away a take? There seems to be a lot of the clicky stuff going on compared to cubase. Any tips?

Have you tried increasing the soundcard's buffer size yet? (Assuming you're using ASIO drivers.)

Check that your using the best drivers for your audio device in the setup page. I had the same problem and remembered that I had used T2 while my Onyx was away at a gig. T2 had switched to the directsound drivers. The directsound drivers still played through the Onyx when it came back but very poorly. Switching back to Onyx drivers fixed everything.

mac/pc?

what audio device are you using? USB/PCI/Firewire?

You shouldn't be getting any clicks, but depending on system specifics, there may be a few tweaks that'll get things working right.

PC

Echo MIA PCI

ASIO Echo WDM Driver

I try to use 128 samples on fresh projects for recording midi... but by the time I've got the basics laid out I end up going to 512 samples.

If you have an AGP video card, have you tried adjusting the PCI latency for your video card? Many people who have clicks with PCI based audio devices report significant performance improvements in Traction after adjusting PCI latencies.

(I'll dig out a link if you need)

is the audio input peaking? (hitting red)

if yes then this would be your problem!

try turning down your feed into the input that feeds tracktion

look to peak at a max of -1db
