Hi,

I'm new to tracktion and didn't found how to record my midi track audio output into an audio track.

I play my midi keyboard and even see the track meter moving on the track I'm recording into, BUT - after stopping the recording - the recorded part is empty :(

Is it possible to do it somehow?

Thanks

I'm not sure I follow exactly what you are trying to do here.

Are you trying to record audio from an external MIDI device, or from a software plugin synth?

Hi,

On track one - a vst synth, the track output is configured to be track 2.

Track 2 level meter is moving when playing\recording track 1 ,but, when I record - nothing is recorded...

OK.

You can't actually do that. Tracktion will only record from an actual input device (one of the arrow things on the far left hand side of the display).

If you want to create an audio file of your VST track, set the destination back the master outs, and then:

- select the track
- click the render button and choose 'render and add' when prompted.

or, mute all other tracks, and select 'export audio file' from the 'export' button.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer, If tracktion can record only from an actual input device than the thing I'm trying to do is impossible... ok...

if you are trying to record real time tweaking, then you might want to check out something like tapeit, or similar.

Tapeit is a vst that can record audio in realtime, so just stick it after your synth plug, start it recording, then do whatever you are trying to do.

Hi,

Thanks for this great plugin.

Also, you can record just the tweaking as automation curves, so you don't necessarily need the realtime audio product. Some people prefer the audio, which is fine, but just for the heck of it, some day make a 'practice' MIDI file and give the automation recording a try.

Down in the controls, there are 2 smaller 'record' and 'play' buttons. Those are for automation data.
