What are the best filters you have heard??

Coffee filters - I'd be lost without those.

I don't have a lot of physical/analog filter experience, but in the software stuff I have played with, I really like the Zolzer filters in Karma FX synth.

Antti's filters sound really good as well.

I tend to use a French press more often lately (:hihi: coffee filter flamewar begin).

I really like the filter options in KarmaFx Synth, too. Probably my favourite free filters out there (only talking filters as separate entities, not bundled to synths).I really like Antti's filters on Asynth, too, but I just re-demoed Frantic Filter last week (and the filter algos are, from what I can tell, the same ones from Asynth) and I simply didn't like the implementation. I don't know why exactly, it still sounded good, just the way the whole plugin worked did not suit me at all.

although, I tend to go toward my cheap little esspresso maker these days...In coffee as in music, I tend to overshoot subtlety in favor of raw eyelid peeling power. hahaha

The best coffee filter is actually a glass rod produced by Cory or Cona inserted into the funnel of a vacuum coffee maker. I use a Hario Deco. But if I could afford it I'd probably fall for the Cona. Everyone knows that vacuum extraction the best way to make cofee. Glass needs to be involved, which is why I insist on tube amplification.

That wwaym looks intriguing.

Volcano is something I'll probably pick up at some point. Fabfilter rocks as well.

I'd say yes, because I've always liked stuff you did in the MK1 filter, but I've recently discovered that I'm a terrible beta-tester. I'm on a beta team for another plugin right now and before I had finished reading the documentation, there were like 50 posts from other users already and a new version to test.

So if you don't mind a slowpoke tester, PM me with details.

I use the Fench press mostly for convenience. It spares me the awful coffe machine at work, I can make it stronger, and it cools the coffee nicely.

But now I must go investigate these fancy glass vacuum gizmos.

I actually had some issues with slowpoke testers in the past. Now that we have discussed the excelent coffee filters, wouldn`t you mind getting a little coffein then. For hyperactive testing

Well, the other one I'm on is for a sampler instrument, so much more labour intensive to figure out.

Given that this is an effect, and that I think I know how it works just by looking at the screenshot, I'm willing to give it a shot (maybe I should go have some coffee to keep me up tonight for some testing).

I'm surprised nobody has thrown down support for Izotope Trash, which has pretty rich sounding filters. The only problem is that the plug-in is a multi-fx deal that takes up a ton of CPU even when one disables the unused modules. Still, if one's patient with it, one could get some really nice sweeps out of it.
