Mulitple Trigger Sources

I currently teach percussion at a public school and I was wanting to create an electronic percussion ensemble. I was wondering if it was possible to have a single Receptor unit supply the sound to multiple instruments. For example, 2 students on a mallet Kat and (however many) other students triggering sounds from various pads.
So, is there a way to have each of these students with their own "set-up" to have different sounds (each) all being contained in a single Receptor unit (or do they need their own self-contained units). And if so, is there something additional that I would need in order to make this happen?
I'm submitting proposals this year, so I'm trying to get as much info as I can about all this. I do music programing/writing on the computer but have never done anything with live triggering.
Thanks...

So, from reading the manual, I found that there's an Output Assignment Selector which you can send any of the 16 channels to certain ADAT channels for submixing and such.
Is the reverse possible? Could I route from these channels to the Receptor through the ADAT slot?
Thanks...

Heya, the ADAT is an audio output. There are only 5 inputs on the receptor for *audio* (3 analog, 2 channel SPDIF), but it sounds like you really just need MIDI input..
The receptor is fully capable to split / layer / zone, so you could easily have different musicians triggering different instruments, and having these all trigger unique synths / samples inside the receptor. However you'll probably need some sort of external MIDI merge box to get the various MIDI controllers all "in" to the receptor at once.

Receptor has 1 MIDI input port where you can plug in a MIDI cable. Receptor also supports 1 additional USB MIDI device. Many USB devices are supported, but not all. If you have a USB MIDI device you will have to check if it is supported.
As bitcrusher said, if you have more than 1 traditional MIDI device and 1 USB MIDI device you will need a merge box. You could set the different pads to send different MIDI notes or send on different MIDI channels.
Then, in Receptor you can use MIDI filters on different Receptor channels to route the MIDI to whatever drum plug-ins you want to run.

M-Audio Oxygen 8, M-Audio Radium 49, M-Audio Keystation 61, and M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 work. Probably any M-Audio keyboard would work, but we have not tested them all.
I'm sure there are others, so the best way is to ask on this forum about your particular keyboard you have in mind.
