I'm considering traction for a new home studio setup. I'm planning on recording drums in a larger studio, then continue the recordings at home (vocals, guitars) then return to the more dedicated studio to mix.The problem is that none of the studios I'm working with mix with traction. Is there a convenient method to converting the traction files to a format compatible to other programs...would I have to convert everything to waves? Someone warned me that wave conversion could mean that one track could split into segments that would not necessarily sync up in the next software application (ie if there is a punch in for a track, it would be one independant segment).
Any advise would be appreciated!

no its not about exporting from t2 its importing solo'd tracks from the studio, solo, export, and follow through like that.

Does Tracktion export Braodcast WAVs or just import? I don't ever need this myself, but sounds like it would help in this case. The Mackie site doesn't seem to say if this is supported:

In the export box there is a new feature that allows you to export each track individually instead of adding them all to a stereo or mono file. (n.b. I wonder if it can normalise them all too?)
This makes changing between apps much easier especially for audio work.

That's encouraging. I'm looking into purchasing a PC laptop, probably with an AMD Sempron 3200 chip, and the Spike package.I don't think I'll be using a lot of plugins, so I'm hoping the laptop is good enough.

All wav files recorded and exported/rendered in Tracktion have the BWAV time stamp.

Right so just choose Export>Create An Audio File, and be sure "Render Each Track to a Seaparate File" is ticked. You'll end up with one file for each track. Good to go.

That sounds excellent, I was interested in traction in the first place because of the track freeze option. I was concerned that the laptop I had mentioned previously might not have enough juice to record twenty or so tracks...the freeze option makes me feel a bit more secure.
The import/export options sound great, I think I'll definitely be going with Traction.
